Screening of “American Refugees” at Seattle University

“American Refugees: Homelessness in Four Movements” is a series of four short animated films inspired by local families. Watch as a child recounts her family’s hard times, a couple ponders the gravity of buying a foreclosed home, families share the reality of shelter living, and a teen uses rap — his art form — to share his experience with homelessness.
The screening will be followed by a discussion led by film producer Lindy Boustedt of First Sight Productions, who managed the American Refugees project as a longtime Seattle U employee.

Francis Village opened in 2012 and contains 61 affordable units, including studios, 1-bedrooms, and 2-bedrooms. 45 units are set aside for people coming from homelessness.
Parking is very limited; please plan on carpooling or taking transit. If there’s no parking available, Totem Lake Mall is a 10 minute walk away.
