Sharing an interest in affordable housing brings members together.
Recognized as a national role model, Housing Development Consortium represents some of the most sophisticated nonprofit housing developers and community development organizations in Washington State, as well as financial institutions and lenders, architects, contractors, private developers, consultants, property managers, accountants and others involved in the affordable housing industry. These include the local housing authorities and government housing agencies.
How to Join
If your organization or business is interested in helping further HDC's mission of improving the environment for the development of low-and moderate-income housing, we invite you to join HDC.

- Applicants come to an HDC general monthly meeting and make a brief presentation about their organization and why they would like to become a member.
- HDC members vote at the next monthly meeting on whether to accept the applicant as a member.
- Dues are prorated for new members, depending upon the month they join. A quarterly payment plan is available. Dues levels vary according to size of organization, business, government agency or housing authority.
Membership Categories
| Nonprofits | Voting members of HDC are nonprofit corporations and public development authorities whose primary mission is the development and preservation of low-and moderate-income housing. Each nonprofit member has one voting representative—usually the executive director of the organization or, in the case of large non-profits with a broader mission, the chief housing development staff person. |
| Associates | Associate membership
is a non-voting status intended to allow for-profit businesses and housing
authorities to work with nonprofit developers on improving the environment for
low-and moderate-income housing development and to remain abreast of news and
current issues related to affordable housing. Associate members receive
informational mailings and participate actively in HDC's meetings, on
committees, in program activities and in training seminars. |
| Government | Government membership is a non-voting status intended for government and intergovernmental agencies involved in nonprofit housing development. Membership allows them to stay abreast of news and current issues related to affordable housing. It also offers the opportunity to work with nonprofit developers on improving the environment for low-and moderate-income housing development. Government members receive informational mailings and participate actively in HDC's meetings, on committees, in program activities and in training seminars. |
