Racial Equity Commitment Cohort
At a time when progress can feel like a tug-of-war between forward movement and backlash, HDC recognizes that members are navigating heightened scrutiny around diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), with some organizations questioning whether to scale back or quiet their commitments. In response—and in continued support of our members—HDC is launching the next iteration of its successful Racial Equity Commitment Cohort on February 27, 2026.
HDC’s Racial Equity Commitment Cohort Program offers member organizations the opportunity to work collectively to disrupt inequitable systems within the Seattle–King County affordable housing sector. Through a cohort-based model, the program deepens cross-organizational relationships, strengthens networks, and promotes resource-sharing among organizations that are often siloed in their racial equity work.
Through HDC staff-facilitated, structured engagement and training led by a DEI specialist, participating organizations work side by side to advance along their racial equity journeys. HDC supports members in further advancing clear, actionable REDI (Racial Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) goals and strategies aligned with their organizational missions, while fostering shared learning and accountability within the cohort.
Now more than ever, collective action is essential to disrupting inequitable systems and advancing racial equity across the Seattle–King County affordable housing sector—and beyond. Please reach out to Dani Turk, Associate Director of Equity and Programs to learn how you can join this movement!
