SKHHP is working on staffing up, and their Executive Board had their first meeting in April 2019.
What HDC is doing: HDC has been the driving force behind the formalization of the partnership by drafting the documents, convening electeds, and presenting at City Council meetings. Here is SKHHP’s new website.

  • Rental Inspection

Implementing rental inspection programs would ensure quality, healthy housing standards. HDC believes that affordable housing should be safe, healthy, and affordable. Inspections would keep landlords and building operators accountable to their residents.
What HDC is doing: Partnering with local CBOs like the Somali Youth and Family Club and Global to Local to promote healthy housing and advocate for rental inspection legislation. HDC is currently working with advocates to pass a Rental Inspection program in Federal Way.
