Near Discovery Park sits a fenced-off, vacant plot of surplus public land. Once the home of Fort Lawton Army Reserve Center, this property is federally-owned and can be given to the city at no cost if it is used for affordable housing.

As affordable housing advocates, we know this is a wonderful opportunity. The site could be redeveloped into over two hundred affordable homes including apartments and homeownership opportunities. Many of these homes would be available specifically for people currently experiencing homelessness- bringing people inside to safety and health.

These homes won’t be built without your support. Here’s how you can help:
