Advocate of the Year

HDC would not be able to do the systems change work we strive for without passionate advocates who go above and beyond to be strong voices for progress and compassion. Thanks to our member’s advocacy work we are ever closer to seeing that policies and programs exist that put us on the path towards safe, healthy, and affordable homes for everyone in King County.

Ryan Mielcarek from Compass Housing won the 2017 Advocate of the Year Award for his leadership around the Vets, Seniors, and Human Services Levy.

 

 

 

 

Mark Kantor from Kantor Taylor won the 2018 Advocate of the Year for his leadership around House Bill 2444 providing a real estate excises tax exemption for certain transfers of low-income housing.
