King County 2019-2020 Budget on Housing and Homelessness

  • Sewage Treatment Capacity Charge Waivers
King County levies a charge on structures with new connections to the sanitary sewer system.
HDC is working to secure a waiver for affordable housing developments to keep this from adding another cost burden on affordable housing development.
Update: In a 9-0 vote, King County Council voted to pass this legislation that will make it easier to build more affordable housing for less. HDC and our members turned out to testify and engage Councilmembers.
  • PSRC Vision 2050
HDC’s has submitted a comment letter, spoken at Learn at Lunches, and continues to engage around the Vision 2050 work.
  • Regional Affordable Housing Task Force
Our county needs to be building 44,000 affordable homes in the next five years to put us on track on meeting our region’s need. We won’t be able to achieve that level of scale without a regional, collaborative approach. HDC is continuing to convene members to learn about the RAHTF recommendations and begin to incorporate those recommendations at a city level. Take action now and let your elected leaders know to be using on the policy tools in their toolkit.
