HDC’s 2020 Celebration

While we can’t celebrate together in person this year, we encourage you to take a moment to honor and recognize the power and dedication of our community.

Many thanks to our members and partners for your continued support through trying times. We’ve accomplished so much together this past year toward smart housing policy, increased affordable housing funding, and innovative solutions in development, design, and construction. It’s never been more apparent that we’re stronger together, nor more apparent how interconnected and dependent we are on one another.

You are HDC, we’re thankful for you everyday, and invite you to engage with the content of this page in lieu of convening together on the 25th.

We also invite you to read this special message from HDC’s Executive Director, Marty Kooistra, on this day we would have gathered together.

About HDC and our Annual Celebration

Each year, HDC convenes 1300+ people at the WA State Convention Center to celebrate our collective accomplishments, and to specifically honor those among us who have had an extraordinary impact in affordable housing. It’s also an opportunity to report on the past year of association work and advocacy wins. Please take a moment (3.5 mins to be exact) to watch our Annual Celebration presentation.

HDC is also proud to release our most recent Annual Report. We invite you to review for more information on HDC, our 180 member organizations, and our 2019 activities across the County.

HDC Annual Celebration Awards

Each year at our Annual Celebration, HDC recognizes organizations and individuals who have been outstanding champions of our mission and have made an important impact in the affordable housing sector.

Make a Contribution to HDC

We believe that large-scale social change comes from effective sector-wide coordination rather than from the isolated intervention of individual organizations. That’s why we’re focused on systems change, and why we work hard to convene and advocate for our 180-member collective. We strive each day to create a more robust and connected sector to better respond to our region’s incredible need, and act as responsible stewards of public resources.

If you would like to make a contribution to HDC to help further our work, you can visit our Donation page for giving options. If you’d like to make a monthly donation, please contact HDC’s Operations Manager, Dan Cantrell, who can take your credit card information over the phone. We’re so grateful for the consideration of support!

Special Message from HDC Staff

Thank you for all your support last year in advocating for affordable, healthy, and safe homes. 2019 was a historic year for housing advocacy and we could not have been so successful without the participation of our partners, supporters, and members. We also recognize we are in unprecedented times, and our members are working on the frontlines of this pandemic every day on behalf of our vulnerable communities. We’d like to wish our members and supporters a very special thanks for all you do.

COVID-19 Response Resources

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we all face the days and weeks before us with uncertainty. However, we want to be prepared to identify how this situation impacts both the short- and long-term delivery of our mission to provide and support affordable housing, as well as the impacts on our day-to-day operations.

To that end, we have created a webpage to serve as a collection of links and information, to assist in accessing the multitude of resources that are currently available, as well as those that will come on-line, to assist with things we may face in the future.

Many thanks to our 2020 program sponsors for their generous and continued support!
